Steve Sedahl has
been performing on television, radio and stage for more than 20 years.
Starting as a feature reporter for The
American Forces Radio and Television Service, he traveled Europe
extensively doing stories on American troops abroad. After the army, he
worked with KTHI-TV in Fargo, North Dakota as a reporter and anchor. The
year 1982 found him teaching Television and Radio Production and
Technology at a small private school in Minneapolis.
Always the broadcast pioneer, in 1986
Sedahl jumped at the opportunity to be part of television’s newest
form, Home Shopping. Hired as an original on-air host for the Cable
Value Network, Steve quickly excelled, striking a fine sense of balance between
informing, selling and entertaining.
Eventually, CVN was acquired by QVC.
As a result, ValueVision was created and as that morphed into
ShopNBC, Sedahl found himself part of yet another revolutionary
undertaking. Anxious to stay ahead of the technologic curve, ShopNBC
charged Sedahl with the task of creating, implementing, launching and
maintaining the country's first commerce based, streaming media website.
A site that generated a respectable $2.2 million in revenue the first
year (FY98) and a staggering $62 million this past year. (FY02)
In 1995, Sedahl was cast as
"Chopper" in the "Let's Bowl" pilot. The show aired
on a variety of outlets in the Minneapolis market and in syndication
before being picked-up by Comedy Central in 2001. After two
well-received seasons, the quirky bowling show is now being shopped at
"another network."
Currently the national spokesman for
Netway Computer Systems, marketed exclusively on ShopNBC, Sedahl has
found time to present a variety of electronics including digital
cameras, LCD televisions and FRS radios. Due to his exceptional
